PT Center for Accessibility Assistant

Duties:
  • Reports to the Assistant Director, Center for Accessibility (CFA)
  • Performs all duties within the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 504 and FERPA
  • Screens guests at reception area
  • Provides administrative support to the Assistant Director of the (CFA)
  • Guides students through the application process for area programs
  • Maintains CFA student files and data base
  • Utilizes college data management system to maintain and analyze CFA program data
  • Assists with the preparation, monitoring and maintenance of CFA program reports and budgets
  • Assists Assistant Director with recruitment and training of accommodations providers (note-takers, readers, scribes and interpreters)
  • Prepares, updates and disseminates accommodation forms
  • Coordinates services for the CFA, reviewing accommodation procedures and responsibilities with students
  • Processes CFA paperwork
  • Updates and maintains CFA department website
  • Assists with the inventory and monitoring of CFA equipment
  • Assists with the processing of financial aid appeals and mid-term progress reports
  • Assists with student leadership activities
  • Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with Ellucian’s Colleague management information system and WebAdvisor a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a multicultural, diverse population
  • Familiarity with ADA as it applies to post-secondary institutions
  • Strong organizational, customer service, written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to flourish in a team environment

 This position requires flexibility scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
